Attended a Wedding and the views were beyond amazing.
So relaxed and comfortable and every thing you could ask for on a peaceful holiday was met.

A very beautiful area and lovely routes leading into the mountain. The shop is very small and only offers the basics. Light meals are served outdoors.

I did the Bushmen paintings hike, it was absolutely amazing! The nice thing about this hike is that there's spring water coming out of the mountain which is drinkable and its cold I might add :) so you don't need to carry a lot of water for the hike.

The terrian is steeper going to the bushmen paintings from Doreen falls, nothing too hectic though.

Stunning mountain resort in the middle of the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. Fully tarred road but last 40ks need to watch for pot holes and cows/goats. Hotel has plenty on offer including golf, swimming pools, squash, tennis and bowls not to mention lovely mountain walks. Wide choice Buffet breakfast and dinner.

Cathedral Peak is the ultimate same day hike. The stunning 360 degree views are worth every step of the 1500m climb up from the parking lot at the Cathedral Peak Hotel. Plan to spend at least 9 or 10 hours on the trail. There is no support after leaving the hotel, so carrying enough water is essential. While it is only 9km up and 9km back, It is not a trail for young children or those with weak constitutions. There are several places where the trail is narrow with steep drops to the side. The steel ladder near the summit is secure, but looks otherwise.

Cathedral Peak Hotel is set within the most picturesque mountain wonderland in the world (it is actually a World Heritage Site). We were very blessed to receive an upgrade to two Superior Rooms with the most spectacular views. The booking and checking in was handled by Buhle who has such a lovely warm, welcoming attitude, her persona had a very soothing effect on travel-weary guests on arrival at the Hotel, and the elderly Porter (Vincent) who took our luggage to the room was really helpful.

The room decor and setup in the Superior Rooms is fitting for the environment (muted, earthy shades) and just lovely with everything you would want in such a room.

The food is still a gastronomic delight (I hadn’t visited for many years). My favourite was the stir-fry but I would also recommend the fresh trout (really fresh - from the Trout Farm nestling in a valley just below the Hotel) cooked to perfection by one of the Hotel’s excellent Chefs.

There are many amazing walks and plenty of other activities (golf, horse-rides to mention two) to entertain many different tastes but I would highly recommend budgeting for the Helicopter flip departing from a Helipad just a brief 5 minute walk above the hotel. Even the shortest version is incredible and gives one an amazing perspective on this most beautiful mountain range with its waterfalls, ravines and stunningly stunning natural beauty.

Got a pedicure at the Wellness Centre, therapist was about to put a “used” emery board to work on my feet. Unhygienic practice? But she fetched a new one when I spoke up, and everything went superbly after that. My friend got an aromatherapy back massage and we were both very satisfied with the final results, great to have this option available.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff, great activities make this an experience I would highly recommend to anyone I speak to: I have been/stayed at almost every hotel in the ‘Berg: Cathedral Peak Hotel remains the best by far!

We came for a family wedding, we stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights, The food is out of this world. Highly professional chefs (Jerome and team) and world class service. The rooms and everything to do with Cathedral Peak are just fantastic.

Once again our stay is fantastic everything and everybody at the hotel works and the staff are extremely friendly and helpfull. The food is out of this world, the only complaint is we tend to eat too much, so hard to say no to such tasty food. Once again we will keep coming back to this haven of nature and peace
