Visiting this village is a throwback in time. Seeing the mosque and walking around, discovering the old city... Just wow. A true stop in history! Enjoy your stay and the wonderful Mauritanian culture

Old mosque in the old city. The guide was knowledgeable and also showed our group his library. There are artisans in the area who are happy to sell you their wares

One of Mauritanias best known sights. Although it is in the desert, this is a spot to really be close to mauritanian culture. Around the mosque in the old city you will find plenty of the ancient libraries.

we can pass inside, one guy saud we can pass there. his place dislocate near library, 100-150 metors.

There were two Mosques to see. One in the old town was still active. We saw this Mosque from a strategic high point amongst rubble but we were not allowed to enter it. The other Mosque was the historic one standing on the very old...More
