Unfortunately our visit was blighted by the haar so we really couldn’t see much at all! St Monans is still a very quaint and picturesque little village to wander around. Just check the weather before you go!!

This is certainly with taking time to do as the information on site is absolutely superb. They show what the area looked like when the salt pans were in existence and it is easy to imagine. This is part of the coastal walk and there...More

Found a lovely sunny day to visit this delightful little fishing village. The walk from here to Pittenweem along the coastal path was superb. It takes in the ancient salt pans and the windmill which is now a coastguard lookout station. I was lucky enough...More

This is a lovely stop along the coastal walk. The view out to sea on a sunny day is breathtaking. It’s especially a nice little spot to take a break.

Visited this really interesting old salt pans, having seen them on the tv it was nice to see them in the flesh so to speak. Hard work must have been endured by the folk living and working there

Nice little walk to the windmill with nice views. Windmill was not open but not too sure if it is. Appears to be a coastal look out station

We has a great evening walk with a beautiful sunset on the walk from St Monans to Pitenweem and back. During the day we also climbed to the top of the Windmill. Regards Gary Saubnders

Boards provide some history of the salt pans which make an interesting pause on the coastal path. Also beside windmill, which is used as coastguard station and at some times it is able to visit.

Short walk from the town. The story boards tell the history succintly. The windmill is a coastguard station and if they are on duty, the staff will let you have a look around.
