Sea turtles galore!
May 2021 • Couples
Maho is a little commercialized… But it is one of the best places to see sea turtles and rays while snorkeling. Every time we go to Saint John we like to go by Maho when we are on that side of the island to snorkel even for a few minutes and be able to see turtles. Not a lot of coral to see here but it is still a great little beach.

Day at Maho
Jun 2021
Arrive early to get a prime location. Either bring or rent snorkeling gear to swim with sea turtles. Very busy lots of oats moor in bay but still plenty of places to swim and snorkel.

Exquisite Beach on St Johns
Jun 2021 • Couples
First off from the ferry to the beach the taxi fare was $7 which was great. You have a great view of the natural beauty from the open back taxis. Btw there are so many beautiful beaches one St John's you really can't go wrong but Maho Bay was our choice and it was perfect. Calm, clear, uncrowded beach. There is a food truck and a bar, also beach rentals, chairs, scuba gear etc they all close at 4pm. This beach is great for couples as well as families. This beach has a feel of exclusivity but it's a public beach. If you're not renting your own vehicle be prepared to catch a taxi by 4pm, the later the less taxis around. A lot of sea turtles in the water great for diving enthusiasts. They usually come close to the shore later when less people are in the water. Definitely if you're in St John's visit Maho bay.

Amazing, we went twice during our week in St John.
May 2021
Great snorkeling spot and beautiful beach. The snorkeling here is easy due to the calm water. There is parking in lots and along the road however it fills up fast, you need to arrive before 11:00. There are basic facilities for bathrooms on the beach and across the street. The option of having Maho Crossroads across the street is nice.

Island Fun!

This was our favorite beach and snorkel space of the week! The beach is so nice with lots of large turtles in the sea grass. Bathrooms and food trucks were available. Excellent spot for a day of beach fun and snorkeling!!

Great for Turtle Viewing
May 2021
If you don't go early, you won't get a parking spot - or go later after 3. It got VERY crowded by 10 a.m. A lot of sailboats moored here as well. Fun beach bar vibe on the other side of the road. Narrow beach that became pretty crowded.

Nice snorkeling
May 2021 • Family
There are several spots for parking in a lot and along the road behind the beach, but go early if you want to get a shady spot to sit. We went around 10 am and were still able to get a spot, and the lovely morning view there will live with me forever! There are spots along the beach the have really rocky entrances and some that are nice and sandy so be mindful of where you decide to set up camp! We were able to rent life vests for our smaller kids across the street. Kayaks were also available and there’s some food/drinks available as well. Kids snorkeled tons and were able to touch for quite a ways out.
