What a view. A tour to just see this spot ? No, probably would not book that trip. It is a bench along side a major road with an AWESOME view north of the island. But, with a car, I would be sure to make a special trip to see THE VIEW. Sir Drake could not have picked a more strategic place to keep a eye on all ship movements around the island. Plus, major routes abound to send and recieve messages everywhere.

Excellent place to stop and take a picture overlooking Magens Bay. Parking is very limited there but everyone quickly moves on because there's not anything else up there other than to take a picture of Magens Bay. The view is breathtaking though. Definitely worth a stop if you are going to Magens.

Cuz you might miss it. We almost did a second time if it weren’t for a couple of locals visiting as well. Yes it’s a seat but you could see why it’s just a seat. The look out was as far as the eye could see. Amazing, breathtaking, and bright. I wish I had a scope to look beyond my plain sight. Not every day you get those views. Take as long or as short as you want, because one day it might just all be gone again like Mike(one of the locals) said. It was all washed away. But it all comes back, longer in time or shorter in time. It’s how we treat our Mother Nature.

Great spot to observe beautiful Magen’s Bay and capture some amazing pics! Be sure to look behind you to see Drake’s seat. If you want to cross the road to sit on Drake’s seat, be very careful. Cars don’t always stop even though there is a crosswalk for pedestrians. Proceed safely to get a picture on the bench for the full experience. View is priceless and no cost!

There are about 200 great places to stop your car and take in the view. Apparently this one is famous. If you have come this far, got the extra 7 minutes to Mountain Top store and take in an even better view with a banana daiquiri in your hand! There are better views that you will stumble on, don’t make a trip just for this one.

Did not go on a tour. We just drove to Drakes Seat and enjoyed the view. The view was really nice of the islands and Magens Bay. If you get the right angle you can take really nice photos. If you you have a car I do recommend that you visit this location. If you do not have a car you don’t have to do this.

We drove up to the Mountain Top and stopped here on the way. The view of Magen’s Bay is spectacular. Tours stop here and not much parking so need to time it just right. Bench to sit on to look at the view.

The views from Drake's seat were pretty, but the view was much better from the Mountain Top gift shop. You can see so much more from there and since we went there first, Drake's seat felt a little underwhelming. I would say if you are trying to hit all the spots in St. Thomas, then Drake's seat will be something you can check off the list. Also, plan your visit when there aren't any cruise ships docked and parking is very limited.

This is the site where Sir Francis Drake looked for enemy ships of the Spanish fleet so it's a popular stop for visitors/tourists. Do yourself a favor and avoid this site when cruise ships are in.

That being said, the view of Magen's Bay is incredible! Just be careful, though, as the parking area is small and cars passing by it never seem to slow down.

Beautiful few to take pictures. The seat is right behind the road where you park. Only few parking spaces there. Picture from the seat is best although may have cars in the pictures. Good for quick 10 minute stop!
