We we there on a Cruise and wanted to pass the time at Seven Mile Beach. Easy to take a ‘taxi’ (its a mini bus) and inexpensive. They make stops at several places on the beach. All are public accept Royal Palms, and all the...More
This beach is the perfect Caribbean color with miles of soft sand and beauty! Our favorite Caribbean beach was Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos, but this beach may be nicer. The water was warm, people were nice everywhere, and completely safe on all parts...More
We stayed in an Air BnB within walking distance from beach. Found a great stretch where locals hangout. Spent the full day on the beach and had access to bathrooms and restaurant amenities. Can't wait to go back.
Came in on a cruise ship and hopped on public transportation (next to the Post Office - two or three blocks for the port entrance) that took us to a public beach about 5 miles down the beach. The beach had restrooms and changing rooms...More

There is a public beach right on the Seven mile beach area, with a bar and restaurant, serving snacks. There are beach chairs right there, but will have to pay to rent them. You may want to bring beach towels with you from the ship, because they are not provided by the bar.
It should not be too expensive to get there by cab, because it is very close to where the ships dock. You can spend a lot of time there relaxing on the beach, if that is what you are interested in.
On the flip side, you will not experience the true beauty and wonder of this destination. There are excursions of swimming with sting rays, beautiful snorkeling, playing with starfish... Depending on how much money you would like to spend (and your experience with the crowds), you can do either a private boat or an organized group excursion.
Private, of course is paid by the hour and you chose the points of interest and itinerary. Let me know if you want info on a very good private boat tour, and I can provide with contact information.
Organized tour is lower priced, but you will have to chose a predetermined itinerary and points of interest. There are plenty to chose from.

I don't know if you would call Calico Jacks a public beach, but a group of us took a taxi shuttle to Calico Jacks and it wasn't a long ride and we loved it. Nice soft sand; enough lounge chairs and umbrellas to go around; really safe; the water was pristine and calm. The Bathroom facilities are not bad maybe a little crowded, but OK.
