Walking along Fortaleza Street in Old San Juan, there is no end of shops and restaurants. To be sure, there's a lot more to Old San Juan than Fortaleza Street, but if you only do Fortaleza Street, you will have tasted Old San Juan.

Shops, the Spanish architecture, food and people watching - a nice combination. We walked Old San Juan from the cruise port. It was an easy walk and well worth exploring the old city. The blue cobblestone streets are beautiful.

Yes, we were there on a Friday morning and afternoon and everything was open, clean, safe and if you weren't looking for hurricane damage, you would've walked right past it.The tourist areas are just fine.
