We visited a total of 4 distilleries on several islands of our recent cruise. This was the most authentic and interesting. Ancient equipment and lots of labor - and the results are great.

Fantastic tour still making the rum the old school way. Everything still done by hand and to see the machinery still working away centuries later is just wow. The tour was just brilliant, Guide was great and the tasting of the rums later was enjoyable....More

This distillery is the oldest factory in the world. Everything is done by hand. The crushing of the sugar cane is done with a water wheel. The liquid runs in an open tube to the vat where the molasses which is the only thing shipped...More

This distillery is still working in the 'old ways' from 250 years ago. It was amazing that it's all still done by hand. The tour guide was very knowlegable and entertaining. I don't like the rum so you don't have to do a taste test....More

I think I paid USD $7 for a small bottle of rum with chocolate for putting over ice cream.
