The sandy beach line is about 80m (250ft) long, white sand. Therefore it gets busy with swimmers, the water is shallow enough for kids to swim in. Our biggest concern was that Jan Thiel Beach management regularly allows jet ski renters to park their jet ski in the prime beach spot (with beach being small as it is). This didn’t seem very respectful to beach guests, nor safe, as there are swimmers and snorklers in the water. There are no demarkation lines in water or on the beach. Aside from taking beach water space, the jet ski owners fuel it with petrol in the water where everyone swims. Jan Thiel security guard seemed to be friends with the jet ski renters, and didn’t hesitate to make a bigger deal over guests bringing own water to the beach, than ensuring swimmers’ safety, or wearing his own mask. If not for the jet skis in swimming waters, this would have seemed like a well-managed beach.ee…

Jan Thiel is my least favourite beach of Curaçao. The beach is very, very small. Stoney and some strong currents. So not ideal if you're with small children. Furthermore, I don't like the atmosphere and crowd. Let's say it's a mass tourism spot that's frequented by a lot of Dutch package deal people. Although it wasn't that busy when we where there due to tourism taking a Covid-19 hit. We left the beach quickly for a spot at Zest, which was better (but still not as good as Blue Bay).…

We prefer the quiet more natural beaches, but wanted to see this. We stayed all day. There is a good restaurant, great bar, clean restrooms and the water was amazing! We unfortunately visited when it was rather windy, so the waves were up. We couldn’t swim out to the reef in the middle of the bay. We read that this is definitely something to see. We still enjoyed snorkeling both the left and right sides on the bay. The waves were quite rough on the right side though. We still viewed quite a lot of fish, and many varieties. Most of the coral was dead and bleached though. I would recommend this beach to anyone who loves to snorkel and to families as well. Water entry is very easy, especially on the left-hand side. …

Nice beach, plenty of space, beautiful area. Lot's of places to grab a drink of food. Many of the beaches you pay a small fee to use for the day. They often also charge for a chair rental. Good beach for families with kids. Easy to find when driving.
