    Interesting!
We took the ferry across the Bay for 35 CUP then walked up to El Cristo De La Habana. It was definitely hot at 10:40 am. FYI, the ferry lady checks your bags before they let you in. When we arrived at El Cristo there were a lot of people, a bus tour was there. I don't know why but I never thought of bus tours going there. Took some nice pictures then walked towards the Fort. About a 20 minute walk. No taxi were around to take us from El Cristo to the Fort.

    Amazing Statue of Christ
The statue of Jesus Christ sits on a hill overlooking Havana. It’s a very beautiful view of the city and the water. Tour buses go up there or you can take a taxi from Old Havana for $10.00 USD. Across the street from the statue is Che Guevara’s house this is a must see and the cost to enter is about $250 CUP. My suggestion is to have the taxi drop you off at the Statue, then walk across the street and see Che’s house, from there start walking down the hill and you will see the war memorial tribute to the Bay of Pigs. Then keep walking down the hill and you will come across the fort museum. Then from there walk to the castle with the light house and taxi back to Old Havana. Total time to see everything is about 3-4 hours. I highly recommend this walking tour.

    Havana seen from above
Very easy to reach taking the "lanchita" from Habana Vieja, than a 15 minutes walk to the top of the hill. For sure, it is an impressive statue...and this is it! Very close to the "Casa del Che", you can do both in less than 2 hours. This spot provide magnificent views of the entire city.

The Christ of Havana is a colossal statue of Jesus that stands guard over Havana. With open arms and a serene expression, this monumental sculpture offers not only breathtaking panoramic views of Havana and its port, but also a sense of serenity and contemplation that resonates with visitors. BEST PLACE TO SEE THE SUNSET IN HAVANA!!!!

The view to the city from el Cristo was pretty, specially with the sunset where you can sit and enjoy the view and take pictures. The Che house museum is very close and it closes at 5pm.

The Christ of Havana  is a large sculpture representing Jesus of Nazareth, on a hilltop overlooking the bay in Havana.
Maybe it is not so big as sculptures in Brazil or in Poland but still it is impressive.

The statue is pretty cool (though nothing more), and it’s a pale imitation of its equivalent in Rio, but it’s worth crossing the bay to see it and the views over Havana are as good as you’ll get. It takes a bit of effort to cross the bay (if not using a taxi), but it would be a shame not to - and the area around the statue is also beautiful and good for a walk. If you combine a visit to the statue with a visit to the fort, you won’t feel cheated - this formed the basis of one of my favourite afternoons in Havana.

The giant buddy Jesus statue looks so great from Old Havana.
Funny, cuz when I took an old car to the top of the hill, it didn't look nearly as large. It's big - but it's a long way to go for a statue.
The view is ok, but there is nothing to do in the area. Meh.

HUGE. This is an impressive statue overlooking the harbour. Sits next to Che house. Plenty of great photo shots. It is well looked after. A must if you want to see the house of Che which is literally a few feet away.

We stayed in Havana for nine days so had plenty of time to cover most attractions. We caught a local ferry across and walked up the road to the statue. Interesting history with the 1950 Batista president comissioning the statue (a copy of the one in Rio de Janeiro) to try to gain popular support while Castro and che were taking over the island. It was made in Italy and blessed by the pope.
