This could be a spectacular walking avenue, but it would require a lot of maintenance and refurbishing work. Full of live, plenty of painters around, full of people doing nothing on both sides. We walked on our way from the hotel to the Capitolio, worth to try this walk, absolutely no safety issues.

Just returned from a one week stay at this beautiful hotel.
The location is fantastic and very close to everything. It overlooks the Malecon.
The rooms were beautifully decorated, and the rain shower was a nice touch. Hot water always available.
The food was above Cuban standard. and a range of items on the menu to choose from.
The service was above par. The Manager, Fernando was always available and seemed interested in your comfort. Always asking if we needed anything.
Susel and Pavel were always available and checked in with us on a daily basis. I was impressed with the service level.
I would say that this is by far the best place to stay in Havana. A beautiful lobby bar with a view to the water.
A four-floor pool and a ninth-floor outdoor patio with a spectacular sunset view.
Truly Amazing

The photos of the paseo are quite impressive, but beware of the 2 sections of it. The one closest to parque central is the tamer of the two in terms of more adults who are sitting along the promenade. The second half of the paseo that is closer to the malecon is overrun with teenagers in skateboards and rollerblades making a stroll uncomfortable in terms of saftey. Also, while walking around 6pm, I was with 2 female photographers in their 70s. We were taking photos of architecture on one of the buildings, when one of the teenage boys threw a book at one of the women.

I went to visit the place, we were rudely stopped at the door by an employee of the place, when she realized that we were Cubans. She told us that there was “an event” , which we later found out was not true. Foreigners were allowed to enter, but not Cubans. When I see things like this I wonder, aren't my dollars worth as much as someone else's? Or is it that just because I am Cuban I am worth less? There is an apartheid on the island. Cubans are segregated by the Cuban government itself, it doesn't matter if you have enough money to pay for the place, we are still worthless. I have traveled to about 45 countries and 223 cities, always in 4 and 5 stars hotels where I have been treated like just another customer, who comes to spend their dollars. Only in my country, I cannot go past the door to have a coffee, simply because I am Cuban.

Beautifully designed brand new hotel with spectacular views!

Free Wi-Fi, great location, walking distance from all the action.

Armando and Francisco at the front desk were amazing! Friendly and really helpful throughout our stay.

Pool is smaller than it looks and service was slow and dreadful. Rooms for improvement!

Hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, the views of the ocean from the bedroom was magnificent. Reception staff are attentive but can be dismissive. The concierge was great. The food was bland, and even the fruit lacked flavour, which was hard to believe. Restaurant service was poor, not upto 5 star standard. Staff lack training.

I'm looking for the details/name of a Cuban artist from Paseo del Prado who I'd like to recommission a painting after my original piece was stolen.

On the last day of my trip to Havana, Cuba in 2017 I bought a beautiful canvas painting from a street artist on Paseo del Prado (see photo below). This was recently stolen from my property and I'm trying to locate the artist because I loved this piece and would like to commission a replica.

I don't have the artist's name, but the artist was a female street artist selling her work as part of the Weekend art market. She had brown hair from memory, was in her 30s ish and her art was inspired by I believe the 90's film Havana. I've attached a picture of the piece below. If anyone recognises the artist please do get in touch!

I think there is a bit of confusion with this listing - this listing is not referring to the hotel Paseo de Marti (Prado) but rather the widened boulevard that runs from the Capitolio National (capital building) to the Malecon. I believe the fore mentioned hotel is contained on this walking street.

The street itself is fine for a stroll particularly in the evening but is definately not a ‘must do’ tourist activity.
