This fantastic pre-art deco picture palace was first opened in 1912. For decades it was the place to see the latest Hollywood and British blockbusters. It closed in the 1980’s after a short spell as a bingo hall. Now – thanks to a £2.1 million restoration project – the Hippodrome is open again, lovingly restored to its 1926 heyday. With a great program of blockbusters, art house and classic favorites, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

We have had another short drive today to visit our favourite cinema. As usual it did not disappoint: great building, plenty of empty seats, great prices and lovely staff. The film choice is always interesting and we end up seeing films we wouldn't have bothered...More

We love the local cinema. It gets the major films in not long after cineworld etc. Beautiful space & wheelchair accessible. The silent film festival is brilliant. A rare chance to see works with live music.

The Bo'ness Hippodrome is a real treasure. Far more intimate than the huge, expensive cinemas we're used to these days, it's full of character and beautifully restored. You can even buy wine - bonus!

First opened in 1911, the Bo'ness Hippodrome is a wonderful cinema. It closed in 1975 and was derelict for many years - now totally refurbished with excellent sound and viewing. There's usually an excellent line up of good film screenings. Well worth a visit.

This is a super old picture house, dated 1911 and with flip up seats and a balcony, absolutely brilliant picture experience! Service from the serving staff should be so much better, total farce trying to get some mulled wine, first using a jug, then a...More
