It's a beautifully preserved monastery and superb gardens. It's maintained by orthodox nuns, and houses a museum of famouse Romanian painter and poets. It is well organized and ntetsting to visit. In the summer I guess there is more activity and small shops around .

This convent has one of the most charming architectures you will ever find. The atmosphere created by the arched balconies and rich blossom is fairy tale-like. As with many of the monasteries in this area, there are lots of visitors so you do not get...More

We received a warm welcome at Agapia Convent. They call it a monastery but it's full of nuns. Does that make it a nunnery or a convent? The flower gardens are amazing! The museum at the entrance is also worth visiting to get a sense...More

As almost all Moldavian monasteries, Agapia transmit idea of peacefull divinity. Full of flowers and tidy yards complete the religious message.

This us a nuns only monastery. The internal courtyard reminded me of the Rila monastery in Bulgaria. There us a store just by the gate where you can buy very tasty bread (we found Bulgarian bread not tasty at all) as well as sweet fruit-flavored...More
