Lovely place and gardens. Quite easy to get to by public transport. You can play games on the lawn. Refreshments available too.

Not a great deal to see but what is there is fairly interesting. Unfortunately no parking at Red House, however, nearby roads have parking. Not far from a bus stop but not particularly easy to find.

Wouldn’t most of us love to live in the Red House! It has domestic proportions with some lovely architectural details, decorated walls, windows etc, as well as a pleasant garden. Sadly, though, there was almost no furniture or other items relating to Morris, or any...More

Lovely place in keeping with its Victorian origins. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The photos and furnishings are fascinating, the leaded windows very beautiful and the wall paintings superb. There is small cafe but the coffee was very poor and stale

If you want to see the house that William Morris lived in, it's fine & the gardens are lovely. However there is little to see in the interior although the guides are full of knowledge. I had expected much more & it is rare that...More

William Morris commissioned the building of this house but only stayed for 5 years - his decoration and influence are obvious but very few original artefacts remain. This doesn’t take away from the charm and social importance of the place. Set in a rambling ‘cottage...More

Beautiful garden, interesting house, decent guide, lovely staff and volunteers. But the house is virtually a shell, apart from three pieces of original furniture. Morris and family moved out in 1865, since then multiple owners have painted over his work and designs; so bit by...More

There is limited parking on the roads around the red house but watch out for the parking restrictions. It can get very busy especially if it’s a sunny weekend
