This is one of the easier walks but the going can be a bit steep . After you get to the first pools and wooden rail it is about another 1000 feet and can be slippery

Well still considered difficult by some, this is a easier hike. It is worth it to go to the very bottom of the falls and enjoy the cascading water which is very beautiful. The colours were an added attraction, hiking back out one needs to...More

The main falls are quite nice! On the way down I noticed some small fish, probably trout, in a couple of the pools. Some of the rocks on the trail can be quite slippery. The way back, uphill, can be a bit strenuous for some....More

We took this walk on a wet cold day. It was probably a hour downhill to the falls. We stopped there and turned back. Was quite tough walk back to car park in the rain but on a dry day I would say very manageable.

You should be prepared for other foot traffic along the trail - not that it was an issue - it just was a beautiful time of year (fall color and cool temps) and a great time to be in the woods. It's a Moderate hike,...More

It is well worth the hike down and back up to see Dark Hollow Falls. Depending on when you are there, the water flow may be better than at other times. We've seen it in all kinds of flow. Be mindful of your children and...More

Becaused it's not a high-volume stream, the waterfall at Dark Hollows, while high (about 70 feet I understand), is not overwhelming. But the walk there is little more than 1/2 a mile, the path relatively smooth and the route, along the stream, is lovely. If...More

This sounded like a nice hike for us but we weren't prepared for two things. All the steps leading down to the falls made it VERY difficult for my husband. He can hike up and down hills but stairs are really hard for him. While...More

The hike was good. The trail map was easy to follow. It was very scenic. Due to recent rains part of the trail was wet and the rocks were slippery.

My 6 year old had no problems with minimal help, but your 3 yr old might. It depends how used to hiking they are, especially steep and Rocky terrain.
