Went in July. Arrived at 5:25 because we wanted it peaceful- strongly recommend you get there before 6:30. Plenty of daylight at 5:30 but we got the added pleasure of watching the sun rise over the mountains. Go early! Not hot, few people. I’m not...More

I hiked on this trail with my three teenage children. This trail goes by Alberta Falls and then up to Mills Lake. If you take the shuttle to the Bear Lake trailhead you can hike down to the Alberta Falls Trail. Then hike out to...More

This is a great hike and Trail, but between the altitude and the incline I would say it is a moderate hike. It is definitely not easy to get all the way to Mills lake but it is worth the hike! Big careful because it...More

I hiked several Trails while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. The Mills Lake Trail was my favorite. There was a fair amount of snow along the trail which made the hike moderate in difficulty. You pass Alberta falls on the way. Put this Trail on...More

I want to begin by saying I'm not the most in shape hiker ever...and I totally made it to Mills Lake and to be perfectly honest the hike wasn't too bad. The hike isn't steep at all and if it weren't for all the snow,...More

Nice hike with pretty waterfalls along the way. The aspens were showing their gorgeous colors. Plenty of chipmunks at the lake begging for food, and they are bold!

This is a really nice hike with beautiful views the whole way. The altitude is high -- we got to 10,000 feet according to our apps -- so take your time and enjoy if you aren't used to it. It's not too steep, but it...More

We actually hiked to Mills Lake by taking the trail to Lake Haiyaha and then cutting over, which was much more enjoyable because you avoid the crazy uphill hike from Glacier Gorge. We went back out through the Gorge and it was downhill which made...More

Moderate hike from a glacier Gorge trailhead in RMNP. Good trail conditions usually mid to late June depending on snowmelt and runoff conditions. Rest at Mills Lake and soak in the view and alpine air!
