I can’t believe more people have not reviewed this beautiful hike because it was probably our overall favorite of the 3 different 6-8 mile hikes we did over the last three days. A good part of the distance to this 300 ft falls is parallel...More

This trail head entrance is about 20 minutes from the Nisqually southwest entrance. There's a small parking lot on the left but if it's full, you can park on the side of the road or at the Christine Falls Bridge parking area which is farther...More

We hiked the Van Trump Park trail past Christine Falls, made it to Boucher Falls, but alas, my knee gave out:( Nevertheless the trail to Comet Falls is a joy and well worth the effort. It's rated as moderate, but snow might make it a...More

This but one of many excellent day hikes handy to the National Park Inn at Longmire. They can all be enjoyed from the Inn without contributing to the impact of backpacking.

The 1.9 mile hike to Comet Falls is steep but worth the effort. The falls are just fabulous and you can take a side spur to get safely close enough to get very wet! We made the 1.0 mile added hike to Van Trump Park...More

The climb is steep and so me of the trail is Sandy and slippery. But the view of the waterfall is awesome. You can take this hike a bit further and enjoy either Mildred point and/or Van Trump hikes, which are challenging. But also lovely.
