We hiked to the top of the falls and it was fierce! The trail is very well maintained and marked but it is not for someone expecting an easy stroll. It’s the equivalent of 60 flights of stairs to the top (according to Fitbit). There...More

This hike was a little more difficult then I expected. The snow had melted making it muddy. Be sure to wear the proper hiking footwear. It’s a beautiful hike. We saw four deer and they came within 10 feet of us. Worth the hike.

My wife and I hiked the trail for the first time on January 24th. It was sad to see the damage the fire did to the forest last year. It was still a beautiful 2.6 mile hike. We were wondering what strenuous was going to...More

Beautiful hike with beautiful scenery but be aware you ascend 1500 feet in 2 miles. We are in good shape & this was a challenge. Please respect their advice & wear boots on this hike. Do not wear tennis shoes or sandals. You will not...More

This trail was closed during our visit as they are renovating the trail. Please don't take the trail when it's closed. As a retired Federal worker, I am aware that more accidents occur when people enter the trail during renovations. Remember you can't sue the...More

The only reason we did this trail was because Alum was closed. It was already snowing in the parking lot when we started, but that wasn't going to deter us because we had reservations at Le Conte. I thought this was going to be easier...More

It's a very challenging hike especially if you are not a regular hiker. The trail consists on dirt road, rocky terrains, wooden and rock stairs, etc., You definitely need to bring enough drinking water. It took us about 2 hours and 40 minutes (I spent...More

This trail was tough- It goes up the mountains for about 2 miles all the way to the falls. The path is a combination of dirt, stone stairs and rocks to climb over. It took us about 2 and half hours round trip. But if...More

I am told Rainbow Falls Trail gains about 1,500' in elevation and is 5.4 mile roundtrip. Hike is considered moderate in difficulty. It is least that The Rainbow Falls Trail continues for approximately 4 miles beyond the falls to the summit of Mount Le Conte....More

Our family hiked the Rainbow Falls Trail. Although it is described "Hard" we did not feel it wasn't as difficult as we expected. We could compare this hike to Abrams Fall. We hiked past the falls by about a mile to the top of the...More
