This is a beautiful hike and not that bad either for kids. If your looking for a short hike, this is a good one. Located near Cades Cove, take a left onto Tremont Rd and drive about 1.5 miles back into the Tremont Institute. Once...More

The falls were really nice. The hike to them and back was a good work out. Take a hiking stick if you have it. We didn’t and wish we had!!!

The hike to see Spruce Flats Falls isn't very long but it is challenging enough that you'll need to be in decent shape to reach it. Anyone with bad knees, weak ankles, or an unsteady balance would not be able to complete the trail. I...More

The hike starts at the Great Smoky Mountains institute, there is a parking, restroom, vending machine and a store. from there the hike goes into the forest, it's a relatively easy hike to the waterfalls, not too crowded (we went on a Sunday the weekend...More

We first found this hike about 11 years ago. We visit each year and continue to be amazed that it isn't ever busy. Often, we are the only ones there. It's gorgeous. It is not long at all. It does offer more adventure than some...More

We've been hiking in the Smokies for years, but I'd not heard of this hike until my sister introduced it to me. The trail is a bit tricky as others have mentioned. There really are lots of tree roots and rocks that can make this...More

Departs from the Smokey Mountain Institute at Tremont. Ascends rapidly from the parking lot. Follows a ridge for about a mile bringing you to the falls. The trail is rocky, full of roots and rolls up and down. You can play in the pool at...More

Had a great time hiking to this falls with 10 & 12 year old daughters. We saw some people come out muddy as it had just rained and some parts of the trail were slippery. We took our time and were rewarded with a waterfall...More

This is a short (approx 2 mile roundtrip) hike with a beautiful waterfall at the end. Perfect spot for a rest or picnic. The path has many tree roots and is steep in some areas, so watch your footing. We've done this hike twice and...More

We had a great hike up to Spruce Flats Falls in Tremont. The hike was moderate, but had a few places that would be challenging for very young or old hikers, perhaps. Some of the terrain was rather steep. The falls were absolutely beautiful and...More

Depends on your physical shape. Not saying I wouldn't but be cautious. Go slower with good footing and hold onto trees when you can. Look at the pics to get a better feel. Regards,
