We drove all through Death Valley on one of the hottest days of the year. We had never experienced heat like this before. It was miles and miles of desert. The overlook at Dante’s peak was awesome. We watched the sun set. We weren’t able to do too many hikes due to the extreme heat. The artist palette road was simply amazing. This was definitely a lifetime experience.

We set out early n drove all day to see many sites including salt flats, Shoshone, Artist Palette and Dantes View. Wow. The drive out of Artist Palette was spectacular. All with 109 degrees. Plenty of water and snacks but no lunch. We would have brought lunch if we realized how few places to eat there were. Museum curator in Shoshone museum was great n very nice n knowledgable. We met many travelers on our long trip who were friendly polite and smiled. Great experience. Small hikes all beautiful.

Every part of this trip as great. Ralph was a terrific guide. He talked all day about what we were seeing. He made many stops along the way. The van was comfortable and the size of the group was just right. Death Valley, from snow capped mountain to salt flats, was fascinating.
