Stop if You're Driving By
Apr 2021
Stop if you're driving by, but don't go out of your way to go there. It's interesting to see the colors in the canyon walls and neat to know that the nave flyers practice there.

Only If You You Are Driving By
Apr 2021
This is a long way from Furnace Creek over hill and dale. A couple of really small towns on the way, but of all the things to spend your time on visiting the area, I would have skipped this had I known. The so called spectacular colors were not that obvious to us - all in all not worth the gas to get there and back.

Beautiful
Apr 2021
It's a drive to get there but the drive is beautiful.
The valley overlook is beautiful. There is a gravel road off the main parking lot that is a Must See. You can look over to see the valley and the road that you travel through the park to get to this point.
Due to elevation it is cooler here.

Panoramic View
Mar 2021
Be sure to take the dirt road out to a small parking area with amazing views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Gravel road that most cars can negotiate. Super windy on the day we were there.

nice cooler west end of park
Aug 2020
nice view of canyons on the west end of the park, a bit "cooler" compared to valley floor, no picnic tables, however we sat down outside to eat something as ws nice enough. there are restrooms here.

Hard to see the "rainbow" color, mostly are black,
Jun 2019
it is supposed to have layers with colors, however, when you arrived there, it's so difficult for you to see the color, the board said it has "rainbow" in rock, but the real picture is all layers looks black in color, only a very tiny portion has red or teal color appeared and you have to use camera to zoom it and focus on that tiny spot in order to see some color. in general, the overall picture is black. When we leave, we see sport with a bit more and prominent color, but it's already on the road of leaving the Vista point. In this area, there are high chance to see the army flight, and we saw once when we visited. I think it won't be a great loss if you don't have time to visit this spot

Not much to see from the viewpoint
Mar 2020
View was not particularly impressive from the parking lot. Smallish canyon straight out and a peek--boo view of the Panamint Valley. There was a dirt road that looked like it might go out to where one could get a view of the valley (where the planes might occasionally show up) but we opted to not take the camper down that road.

The few minutes to stop and experience is worth it.
Jan 2020
This is a quick stop on your way in or out of the park on highway 190. The views a quite different from what you experience in the park so it is well worth stopping.

Watch the jets
Jan 2020
You never know when the jets will swoop through the canyon but WOW when they do. What a show. It's pretty exciting.
