Don't drive too fast
Jan 2020
The Devil isn't the only one tempted to drive fast here. Straight as an arrow, you may be tempted to put the pedal to the metal.

Lurved this drive
Aug 2019
So, it is you and the road and the very occasional other car....

You are out there on your own is the best way to approach this drive. No mobile phone signal, just open roads, tarmac and a nice healthy engine urging you along and away with your thoughts

Loved this drive so much.... You can open the engine up as it is great tarmac to enjoy the drive on.

Great experience, but please have plenty of water with you and be sensible and safe, you are literally in the middle of nowhere on your own with an occasional other tourist...

BE SAFE and SENSIBLE

Devil’s Speedway.

Dear friends,
This way was really scary as we were the only ones driving on this road.
My husband was scaring us all the way, but we were glad to see more nature.
We passed by a turquoise lake, that was really beautiful.
The road was not smooth, a lot of small rocks and it was a little bumpy- there is no one. If your car breaks down or you run out of petrol and no internet you will be in trouble.
So please have full tanks and food and drinks with you, just in case.

Without a car but yours on the road, you can fly down the road at terrific pace marvelling at all of the natural beauty around you. Some amazing scenery, just unbelievable, and a cool breeze as you drive down The Devil’s Speedway makes for a brilliant experience.

I presume I did drive it... as I did drive across the Valley "right to left". The Devil? Oh, just make sure that your car has fresh supply of coolant and have WATER with you!

Miles of brown

Miles of death, Brown and despair. Make sure you hit up Dante’s View, the visitors center and the sand dunes then head out before the sun sets ...

Wonderful!
Jul 2018
The Death Valley is an amazing National Park. We went to the park in late June. It was 121F at the Badwater and 110F at Furnace Creek. Dante’s View on the mountain was cooler. Dante’s View is a must if you visits the park. Please bring a lot of water and wear proper clothes for Death Valley. We took 190 from Las Vegas and 190 to Los Angeles. The highway 190 to LA is scenic.

Interesting Surrounding Views
Sep 2017 • Friends
This is simply a long, straightaway on the main road going through Death Valley National Park - as such not stop worthy. It breaks up the drive with a different kind of scenery - flat open valley view surrounded by mountains on the edges. It does have a few pull-offs if you want to stop and take a photo. A group of three coyotes were ambling about close to the road - hoping to get food from tourists because they came up very close to another car that had stopped. This allowed our son to get some nice photos of them but keep in mind that they are wild animals no matter how dog like they appear. However, would not want to be on this stretch of road at night time since it is in the middle of nowhere.
