Hazy in end of august 2020
Aug 2020
the sheer magnitude of this amazing mountian range wasnt as apparent in end of august 2020 due to haze from California wildfires.

Empty with GREAT hiking
Jan 2020
The hikes to Jawhawker Canyon and Rood Rock are absolutely fabulous. You'll need a good guide book, plenty of water, and good boots.

Best RV Camping View
Nov 2019
We RV camped here. It was spacious and quite. We got there late. So it was dark when we set up camp. But in the morning we woke to a lovely view of the mountains.

MUST DO
Nov 2019
Death Valley is more than one valley, and this one is West of the "main" valley and a definite must. When you go to Darwin Falls (turn off is not well marked, it's a gravel road off to your left as you are heading away from Panamint Springs Resort), be sure to take in the vistas and drive all the way up the windy road to the top of the hills overlooking the Panamint Mountains and Panamint Valley.

Fabulous views
Sep 2019 • Couples
This is a great drive. I loved it but my wife was not so keen. She was sat in the passenger seat looking down huge vertical drops on winding mountain roads.

Impressive mountain views
Aug 2019
This is one of the more scenic parts of the drive through Death Valley. The patterns of color of these mountains is stunning. However the road is treacherous. Drive carefully!

Beautiful Drive with Sweeping Views
Jun 2019 • Family
The drive through the Panamint Mountains has beautiful sweeping views as you come down through the valley. As you come out of the mountains on 190 you'll see scattered Joshua trees!

GORGEOUS . . AND A WHITE-KNUCKLE DRIVE THAT'S SCARY
May 2019 • Couples
On my way to Lone Pine, CA, I drove from Stovepipe Wells Resort through Panamint. I was stunned by the mind-boggling mountains . . . and scared shitless by the drive. Signs warn you to shut off the A/C since cars can easily overheat. I averaged about 12 miles an hour on the one-way roads. There are a few pull-over viewing spots. Do this since looking out the window can lead to death.
It was worth it, though my knuckles haven't fully restored to their true color.
