It’s easiest to get to Jogashima by car, but I do hear that it’s possible with public transportation as well. The fee to cross the bridge is very small (~150¥) but you have to pay for parking as well. The island has beautiful rocky shores and friendly cats. There’s not a whole lot to do besides hike and enjoy some local vendors. Good for a couple hours! …

Plenty of parking to bring our dog for a day of exploring the rocky shoreline. Easy to get to by paying a small fee to cross the bridge to the island. We like the grassy area of the park to bring a sun tent to relax in and enjoy a picnic.

The island is rather small, so you can easily circle the most important spots in less than a few hours. I really recommend going to the lighthouse and the rocky shores near the end station for the buses, since there you can get a nice grasp on the terrain. The prefectural park is also a must if you are visiting here, since it is located on the highest altitude of the island with inevitably the most awesome views of the surrounding region.…

The spot is beautiful and so natural but there’s nothing much else to enjoy. Some snorkeling and dive spot maybe worth to try too (I have no time to do this time, but sure for next visit)
