Beautiful Japanese garden in Kobe, west of Sannomiya station. Traditional features (lake, mossy bit, boulders, little waterfall, many little paths to view the garden from different angles, old ornate pleasure houseboat) juxtaposed against city skyline. Much bigger than at first appears! Spent 2 hours there,...More

A little bit hidden in an unpleasend neighbourhood Sorakuen Garden can be found. Its very nice to sit at the side of the lake and feel the totally calm atmosphere yet see the large city buildings in the background

This garden is a beautiful place, you could spend quite some time just sitting and relaxing among the gardens or near the water. Fabulous.

A small Japanese garden used to be attached to former Kobe Mayor’s residence. It is now belonging to the city. For Japanese garden wise, this is quite average, the admission is very inexpensive, some trees are over 100 years old. Easy access from public transportation.

The garden is beautiful and peaceful. Nice place to just go and sit around and contemplate life. I liked the contrast of the garden and the surrounding concrete buildings. However, it really is just a Japanese garden and since Japan is full of them, this...More

It took a bit of research here to find this location and this made my day. The garden is cheap to enter, and delivers with both historical and cultural buildings with nature's beauty. The ponds are gorgeous, the colors of autumn were breathtaking and there...More

Tucked away in the busy Motomachi district, this garden is a serene oasis in a busy city. The garden meanders through stalls of floral displays to a truly magnificent Japanese Garden. Visiting in the Autumn is a delight due to the vibrant colours of deciduous...More

Using the City Loop Bus, I got off Kitano Meister Garden stop and walked to Sorakuen. It was a 10 minute walk through residential area.
