I came to Wat Chalong after visiting the Big Buddha temple and out of the two temples, I have to say I prefer this! I felt it was more authentic and peaceful-except for when the firecrackers were going off! There is more than one building...More

interesting architecture of the temple! must go up the tallest tower at the temple grounds to catch a great view of the surroundings! Do note that there are only stairs to ascend the top, as the lift did not seem to be working at all!

Wat Chalong is Phuket’s largest Buddhist temple complex from the early 19th century. Beautiful architecture of the temples, Thai paintings and statues. There is no entrance fee. Please be respectful, wear modest clothes covering your knees and remove your shoes before entering the temples.

As part of our city tour, Chalong Temple only increased our appreciation for Thai-Buddhist culture. The intricate designs of the temples within the compound were just amazing and I must say, second to none. While the atmosphere was generally subdued, firecrackers were lit every now...More

We took a taxi from Patong Beach and strolled around the temples, they are absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail is magnificent. Definitely worth a visit, well maintained buildings and gardens.

Be sure to be dressed appropriately as to be able to enter each temple. They are quite sizable and its a wonderful cultural experience.
