This fort was apparently impregnable, in a part of the world where everything has changed hands several times through history. On visiting, it is easy to see why. It is a remote location, and the steeply raked castle is set on a spur of rock....More

We anchored, canoed ashore and walked coastal path to get here - you could drive and walk, but either way a stunning place - great restoration so lots to see, and fantastic views of beautiful Breton coast - close to Cap Frehel lighthouse.More

The fort is quite a walk from the carpark and includes a very steep gravel surfaced hill to descend. Did not go in, just took some external photos from half way down.More

We had an excellent time here. Lots of fun little nooks and crannies to explore. Nice explanations throughout and fantastic views. A little bit of walking and stairs. The bathrooms near the parking lot are about campground level. Camp Frehel bathrooms were a bit better.More

I agree with the previous respondents: you need less than 2 hours. We spent about 90 mins there, visited ever part, read all the signs and notices, dawdled in the shop. It's very interesting.
