I just love this place. You wouldn't know you were under nets, the 'jungle like' foliage and traverse through the valley is FABULOUS. So many species to spot. First visit was unbelievable, second visit birds were nesting so disappointed with fewer sightings. Third visit as good as the first. Will be back next year.

This was a great way to spend a few hours. The birds roam free in a huge free-flight area. It was fun spotting birds and then flicking through our guide books to identify them. The birds come quite close as they are obviously used to humans. If you're in Plettenberg Bay make sure you stop in! Monkeyland is adjacent.

Very pleasant place to visit, you can take all the time you want inside. Saw many kinds of birds and had a great lunch on the little lake/pond watching the birds flying around.

We had a combined ticket for Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and Jukani, We went to Monkeyland first (see review) and then on to Birds of Eden. Visiting both of them took us about 6hrs including lunch. Birds of eden is literally next door to Monkeyland, indeed they share a small carpark, and they were the pick of the three. Birds... More

The birds were freely flying around with designated areas to eat so while you walk you see them swoop down close by to get a bite to eat, there's a beautiful walk way where it covers a lot of area from low to high up and great pictures can be taken within moments of walking into the sanctuary. This is... More

My husband and I went here before our afternoon flight. It's a nice way to spend an hour or two. He wasn't feeling very well, and there is a lot of benches so we were able to stop frequently. This wasn't the most impressive bird park we've visited, but it had a nice variety of birds and wasn't crowded. I... More

It's a very nice walk through a beautyful park with a lot of birds. It's a kind of boardwalk leading you along several kind of birds. Worth to visit.

My husband is a bird watcher in the UK - and it was my decision to go to Birds of Eden. What a waste of our time on the Garden Route. He was so disappointed and it was an expensive mistake. All the birds are enclosed by nets and not many South African birds. It would be very expensive for... More

Fantastic birding.bird photography tip,due to jungle like area,be prepared for darkish areas, flash may be useful,I only had 500mm zoom and had to set excessive ISO levels to get acceptable pics, luckily my Canon 7Dmk2 performed well.

I think it is better to take a guided tour as we had expected to see many more of the smaller birds, however the ones we did see were spectacular in colour. It is a very restful place and you do need to take the time to see the birds in this fabulous environment. It was feeding time whilst we... More
