Overview
More
Birds of Eden is part of the South African Animal Sanctuary Alliance (SAASA). Birds of Eden is the largest single-dome free flight aviary in the world, spanning 2.3 hectares of natural forests, streams and dams. With over a kilometre of walkways, visitors can experience the thrill of spotting almost 3500 previously captive birds of over 200 different species flying free and living natural lives. The scenery alone warrants a visit with hundreds of different plant and tree species plus there are giant fruit bats, golden-handed tamarins and the smallest of the antelopes, Blue duikers. Visits to Birds of Eden are self-guided and you are free to wander for as long as you wish at your own pace. Guided tours for group bookings can also be arranged on request at no additional cost.

The largest aviary in the world. Well worth a visit. It is vast. Boardwalks and one would slat bridge wend their way around the aviary. Birds whizz past. One parrot landed on my wife's back - briefly !! An experience.

This is a great place to stop if you've got a couple hours to spare on the Garden Route! It's on the pricier side, but it's very cool. It reminded me of being in Costa Rica. The bridges and walkways are so scenic.

We enjoyed this very much although we are birders. The enclosure was conceived very cleverly and you were mostly not aware of the restriction. We spent a couple of hours + in here but for most may be an hour would suffice. It was really...More

An amazing enclosure in which you can walk around and get really close to incredible birds. At the top of the pathway there is mist spraying and it feels like you are in a jungle in South America. We had a wonderful guide who also...More

We went there because of my 4yr old son. I thought he'd enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful setting and we all had a great time. A bit expensive by South African standards especially for larger families but a really good day out.

Truly amazing place with the kind of species around. The birds take the park as their natural home and are flying around so you need to be patient and be on the look. Go slow on the boardwalk as the birds are all in the...More
