Overview
More
Birds of Eden is part of the South African Animal Sanctuary Alliance (SAASA). Birds of Eden is the largest single-dome free flight aviary in the world, spanning 2.3 hectares of natural forests, streams and dams. With over a kilometre of walkways, visitors can experience the thrill of spotting almost 3500 previously captive birds of over 200 different species flying free and living natural lives. The scenery alone warrants a visit with hundreds of different plant and tree species plus there are giant fruit bats, golden-handed tamarins and the smallest of the antelopes, Blue duikers. Visits to Birds of Eden are self-guided and you are free to wander for as long as you wish at your own pace. Guided tours for group bookings can also be arranged on request at no additional cost.

A few hours treat for a three generation family enjoyed by all. Great variety of birds in a well laid out space. Highly recommended.

If you like birds, you really need to go here. It's a great sanctuary. One bird took a dislike to my partner and attacked him, it was actually hilarious - the bird was small - Included him in the pictures first guy!

Our guides was great and kept bubbling with information. His little parrot Macau friend kept following us in this paradise for birds. This place is well worth the visit.

We have been here a number of times, one of those times on our honeymoon and again most recently with 2 children. A beautiful walk amongst some beautiful birds and we would definitely recommend this place to visit. We hope to be back soon!

Self guided tour but plenty of extremely knowledgable guides to answer questions. Great to see the birds flying around in the largest aviary. Ideal, educational and fascinating fun for all the family.

We don't know much about birds. We don't know much more having been here, however we really enjoyed walking around the huge outdoor enclosure and simply watching the beautiful birds seemingly happily living amongst each other.
