We had an awesome experience at Lawnwood with our 3 children. Our guide was amazing and we learnt a lot about the snakes. He answered out questions and gave us ample opportunity to interact with the snakes according to everyone's degree of fear. Children had a great time touching and holding some of the snakes. Facility is well maintained.

I was here 8yrs ago and the enclosures have improved. My 13yo loves snakes now, whereas when we were here last, she was too petrified to touch one so she wanted to go back to this park. She enjoyed it but was rather disappointed that she didnt hold more snakes.
Connor was very informative. He really knows his stuff and you could see he was passionate about them!

Popped in here at the end of a long day sightseeing and were very pleasantly surprised. We were taken round by a very knowledgable guide and were able to see (and hold) many snakes. I have a phobia of snakes so decided to tackle it by holding one and it worked ! Great value and entertaining as well as educational

Excellent, top class experience, the children were hanging on our guide's lips for a full 1hr + of interesting snake and other reptile education. What a pleasure it was to enjoy someone with true passion for his field, sharing his knowledge with us. Thank you!

What a fantastic experience - and this coming from someone who doesn’t particularly like snakes! The sanctuary is well maintained and very interesting, but our tour was really made special by Ken, our amazing guide - he was charismatic, entertaining, knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful with our kids. Thank you for providing our family with the highlight of our holiday, Ken! We will definitely be back next year.

The owner and staff are very professional.
The knowledge they have are exceptional our guide was amazing.
I will recommend this to anyone who visits Plettennerg bay.
The price is great for the experience you get and the shop has nice memorabilia to buy.
It is the best snake park i have been to.

This was my fourth visit to Lawnwood. If you don't have an interest in snakes when you arrive, you will when you leave! Michael and his staff are professional and friendly and are keen to share their knowledge of snakes and reptiles. I cannot recommend the tour and visit highly enough and I will return as soon as I am able. My annual trip to RSA would not be complete without a visit. Great for kids too. One gets to handle some of the non venomous species. Don't miss this gem on your Garden Route Holiday!

This is really worth a visit - I have never been a snake fan but found this so interesting. Jam packed with lots of useful information. It’s really well run and the snakes seem happy and cared for. Was even persuaded to touch a few!!

Fantastic time at the snake sanctuary! Very informative and engagingly educational. We went for a beautiful walk on the property, the kids played on the swings, ran around on the grass and we had a picnic. Great spot for families!

We were told at the entrance that it is one of the best rated attractions on the Garden Rote. But if this is one of the best, I don't want to experience the worst. The entrance fee is too much and the experience so-so. There are better places along the Garden Route and Little Karoo (Oudtshoorn) to see snakes, crocodiles and other reptiles. A disappointing experience that I cannot recommend.

Yes, they have black mambas.
Usually you won't see the feeding. Mostly they feed them after the visitors left so that the snakes are abel to eat their food without disruption.
