A lot of the exhibits are under renovation, so beware. You may want to call ahead and ask what is closed (if you speak Chinese). We trekked all the way uphill to find out the shuttle to the gondola was closed and we had to...More

Indeed an outstanding zoo. The panda exhibit is probably the highlight. We observed the pandas in action this afternoon. One panda (Yuan Zai?) has been very well trained to reach for food (carrot) hung up quite high from the ceiling. He made several attempts and...More

This is the best value zoo facility we visited in terms of the humane care of animals on display and wide range of creatures and big expense of the park facilities. I especially liked the cartoons and graphics used on the respective animal display boards...More

The Taipei zoo is located near the brown line terminal station and easily reachable from any metro station. There are lockers inside to store the bags. If you start early you would able to see the pandas without waiting the lines. Finally you can use...More

It's just TWD 60 to enter the zoo. (equal US$ 2) The zoo is much bigger than I expected and we saw the PANDA! The pandas were walking around and looks energetic, normally they are always sleeping.

I'll only ever visit zoos if they have good conservation and endangered species breeding programmes and read reviews first, Taipei zoo has all of these and is one of the best zoos I've visited outside the UK. I was staying in Songshan area in Taipei...More

This was the worst zoo I've ever visited. Half the animals weren't there, the other half was like half dead. If the ticket wasn't so cheap, I would have asked for refund.

It is interesting to go to an older style zoo after some of the big wildlife parks. You get really close to the animals, so close to the rhinos! The zoo has done a good job dealing with the legacy issues of an established zoo...More

Couldn’t manage to visit the panda, but my friends said there wasn’t any panda seen around the designated place. Many locations were closed for construction or renovation. Anyway it’s still enough for us spending half a day there. Entrance and train fees are cheap. Twd...More
