This was probably a buzzing night market in it's heyday. A bit tired now, as are most of the stalls, vendors and clientele. Many vloggers rave about his market, but I think the ones further away from the core of Taipei are more authentic and fun - not to mention better food.

It was amazing but difficult for a vegetarian to get any food. The smell was intense and I have no idea of what flavor. A lot of local cuisine stalls and busy people waiting for food. Watch out for motorists and long waits. Very cheap though! My recommendation is the lotus seed soup(?) which was very sweet.

Wasn’t too crowded. Found some gluten free options that I would definitely go back for - found a rare, freshly made, GF treat - just look for the small Champion Rice Cakes cart on the main outdoor crossroad.

Nice vietnam food (banh mi) and friendly owner. Recommended for anyone visiting the night market and wish to have a try of various food there.

The place has changed a lot since last visit.

Plenty of food stalls in the covered street and out on the street leading up to this one. We also saw a couple of restaurants indoors, some good looking food and then we smelled it... Stinky tofu, our first encounter and we weren't sure what it was until we passed another stall outdoors and saw the tofu. Happy enough with what we got and prices are good. For shopping I'm not so sure, I'm not a big shopper, for food, its fine.

In this market you will find the rarest food you can imagine but the favorite for Taiwanese is the stinky tofu

The Huaxi Street Night Market is made for tourists. It's actually two arcades of shops selling tat. This area was once the center of Taipei's nightlife. The Shihling Night Market offers better things in a more pleasant environment. If you want cheap souvenirs, Huaxi Street Night Market may be worthwhile.

There are many many Night markets in Taipei, in fact in the whole of TAIWAN. Every province will have several night markets; it is so for every town !!! Huaxi Night Market HAS been established decades ago in TAIPEI. It was The Top Night Market in TAIPEI Over showdered even the XI LING Night Market. A MUST SEE Sight for the touriests !!! Time changes and now it it slowly sinking into the showder. The main reason likely be the stores do not catch up with time and remains the same decades ago !!! The ONLY Exception is the SNAKE Restaurant, which is still an attraction for the average tourists; apart from this there are few notable things around. This accounts for the low flow of tourists. Visit and experience the PASSED GLAMOUR of Night Market !!!

What I like about this night market is that a lot of stalls have seating tables for you to enjoy your food. Do note that the actual market is not under the sheltered building but out on the street.

I think back a few years ago it was the place to come but now you can skip it. Snake alley is only 2 shops now and there is a small street food street
