The volcano crater is worth a visit. You can walk right to the edge of the volcano crater. Steam can be seen coming out from the ground. Strong smell of sulphur is everywhere. Highly recommended spot to visit at YangMingShan.

The Park is just outside Taipei towards an expanded mountainous area and really worth to visit with its rolling hills, grass areas, little ponds and water falls! The Park is infrastructural well developed with winding streets, parking areas and different visitor centers! But! But! If...More

Nothing spectacular during this period as the trees are mostly bare. Flowers are non existential and the park is reduced to a normal typical everyday park.

We went to Yangmingshan National Park during a rainy day. Luckily it was just drizzling and not heavy rain. The rain gave the mountain a misty view with mysterious feel. Due to bad weather, we only handpick some spots to visit. Firstly, we went to...More

If you visit on weekdays or very early on weekends, you've got a better chance of missing the crowds. A day trip's possible, but you can find an Airbnb within the park, offering a Scooter for rent. You can reach most of the park by...More

There are walking trails but some trails were closed when we visited. There were a number of temples to the Tu Di Gong (God of The Earth) and pavilions.

Both places are not far to each other and if by taxi/car, it's less than 30mins from Ximenting. Or you can take the subway to Jiantan Station, and take the red-5 bus to Yangmingshan stop. I trust there are day tours there... More
