We called in the Durham Dales Centre for some information and a little local shopping. We were disappointed at the availability of the shops and the information available

A very pleasant site housing good quality gift shops and a jewellery and crystal specialist. The loos are reasonable, but could do with extra attention on busy summer days.

Just called for tea and coffee but they were OK and the scones looked tempting. Tables were clean, nice environment.

Adequate parking and a reasonable gift shop/ tourist information centre and cafe. However, the courtyard area and shops have a run-down feeling with very little to offer. Most of the shops were closed when we visited. It's a pity because Stanhope is pleasant little town...More

The food is always nice here, been lots of times. Good home cooked food, nice baked cakes, pies etc. Staff are very friendly and efficient.

This shop has a lovely range of cards and gifts including jewellery, clothing and children's items. Also information centre for Weardale and has local books and maps.
