We are a visitor and business development centre welcoming visitors to Weardale. We're a great starting point for exploring the area. Our Gift Shop is stuffed full of interesting, quirky and original items and our "Durham Dales Kitchen" serves an extensive range of hearty food. Our beautiful gardens and grounds are great places to eat or just sit and enjoy Wonderful Weardale! We're developing activities for local people with a programme of evening workshops and events. All are welcome.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Plenty of parking and there are numerous outlets selling anything from crafts to a hairdressers. The cafe is also very good. The day j visited there was a small craft fair with some excellent crafters....More

We have been to the dales centre many times on trips to Stanhope. It has toilet facilities. Tea rooms. Little gift shops. Nice seating area in the centre. Garden area that is very well maintained. Well worth a look.

This centre provides facilities for visitors to Stanhope - parking (donation - but be careful, some bays are for tenants only), toilets, cafe, visitor centre and shop and a number of craft outlets, plus the odd ad hoc exhibition. Well worth a visit.

I popped in for lunch and chose the vegetable soup - it was horrible and smelt like it had been made with old slimy veg. I complained and was told that I could have the leek and potato - no apology was offered If possible,...More

If you are visiting Stanhope this is the best place to get free parking, have an excellent meal, buy local crafts at reasonable prices and obtain information about the Durham Dales.

I used the disabled toilet here. It was not clean. No hot water and hand drier not working. Durham council should try and made sure toilet blocks are clean.More

A well-laid out facility but in reality it amounts to little more than a few shops selling the usual candle-shop fare. The café is OK but a tad soulless.
