When I try to remember all that i accomplished in six years in South Africa, Sodwana Bay will be one of my fondest memories.

The sand was clean, the sea warm and the ocean was filled with stunning wildlife. The bars busy and the restaurants fun.

What more could you ever need.

We have been going to Sodwana for many years and the best part is arriving and the worst experience is leaving. Sodwana Bay Lodge is my preferred choice of accommodation, Greg and his team at the Sodwana Bay Dive center have always been our charter of choice for diving as his team is just fantastic and you always leave knowing new friends have been made. Mseni is a great place for cocktails and lunch with an awesome view but this time we found a true gem, "The Tree"! fantastic food, chilled and relaxed environment and probably the best Burgers we have had!

Today we arrived in Sodwana we are staying at a rustic bush camp called Sodwana Bay Lodge58 The thatched cabins are everything that makes me jumpy, my fears of snakes and unknown insects abounds. It was not our first choice but given our decision to go where the spirit moved us and not to plan, we must accept that not all will go our way all the time. The food on offer was basic and so we choose to go and eat out out on our first night there. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. It was not our best choice of stay but I have no regrets that we chose to visit Sodwana Bay. It is a hidden gem known only to the subs divers and the legions of foreign visitors with very few of any local tourists.

I have been coming here for the last 27 years, mostly for the diving. While the place has changed an could say become more developed and populated. It's still my happy place. The people are always amazing, the reefs are out of this world and you still feel you are in a time warp. My last trip in January was amazing and ticked all the boxes. For the foreign traveler, you have to remember this is Africa..its hot and there will be bugs and not as organised as international dice sights. However, that brings it's own charm, be open minded and take it in your stride and you will be pleasantly surprised.

One of the best beaches I’ve been on. You can drive onto the beach at certain times. Long stretches of Sandy beach, beautiful waves, swim where you want. Snorkel in the rock pools, diving and fishing charters available.
Bring your food with you as shopping very limited.
Discovered a very nice little spa and coffee shop at one of the diving companies. Me and my 6 year old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed a aromatherapy massage.
Will I go back to Sodwana.......anytime for sure

The diving at Sodwana Bay was absolutely amazing! We've stayed at Coral Divers and they were running the diving schedules like a well-oiled machine.
