Private Tour : Ceres, Breede River Valley, Big Sky and Big 5 with Wine

This beautiful part of the world, named after the Goddess of Fertility for good reason, lies tucked away in a valley surrounded by the mountains of the Boland and accessed only via mountain passes that will take your breathe away. Come and enjoy the diversity of this region from beautiful mountains and valleys to arid land and see the Big 5 in their natural environment. Come and taste great wines and do some unusual pairings. You will be totally relaxed while your Tour guide takes care of all your needs you just need to show up and wear comfortable clothes.

What a gem of a craft beer shop! We stopped in for a tasting and were in for a real treat. For R80 per person, we sampled 7 beers, 2 ciders and a gin. Such value for money and the beer is very good. We were served by Cosmos, who is knowlegable, humorous, super friendly and a really good ambassador for Garagista. There are very hilarious posters up on walls about some of their beers. No trip to Riebeek Kasteel would be complete without a visit to this brewery.

Stopped in here for time to kill. The range of beers are tasty, the ciders are great, and finished off my tasting with a premixed pink gin. Lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. a must visit.

I liked the concept of this huge brewery in the centre of Riebeek Kasteel The selection of beers, both bottles and draft was excellent, and a lovely vibe whether you sit inside or out. Well worth a visit

When doing beer tastings you usually find one or two beers you like, the rest being just meh or occasionally yuck. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single beer tasted at Garagista. On top of that they have two really nice siders and amazing gin and pomegranate tonic on tap. The quirky branding and marketing has cleverly permeated the brewery’s culture, which makes for an entertaining experience. That said, you do need to have a sense of humour. It probably wouldn’t appeal to the serious, the snobbish or the man-bunned hipster. This brewery is definitely worth the drive to Riebeeck Kasteel and probably the best micro brewery experience to be had in the Western Cape. They’re small, but definitely up there with the big boys.
