We were very dissappointed arrived with 8 friends 6 from overseas and as we walked into the door an older Caucasian man screamed with a fry face we don’t do groups of people . There were two other people in the shop. He was very cold and hard and it was embarrassing to explain to overseas guests and we had driven two hours to explore Riebeek kasteel .

Although the quality of the olives were exceptional, the attitude of the male owner was distasteful and repulsive! He was very hostile towards customers and has a very short temper. This rude old man is definitely not an asset to the local tourism sector. When asking around in town, I heard that lots of customers have complained about his rudeness, which resulted in them not supporting his business anymore.

Shop set up is very good and well kept. It looked clean and follows Covid prevention protocol. Olive tasting was great, we ended up getting several jars home. Though I appreciate direct and prompt treatment, a little friendliness and kindness towards customers is still a must. I did however observed that the lady was different and more accommodating to another group. Thus, though products being sold are really great but my overall experience was not that great.

A delicious and educational experience. Enjoyed tasting a variety of olives and ended up buying a jar of olives and a liter of virgin olive oil.

The titles caption makes me smile. The owner of the shop greeted us with a hearty hello and a smile.
We started walking about the display area when the owner said: "you browse books not olives, you must taste olives. That's how you experience them!"
Needless to say we tasted a whole variety of fantastic olives, olives mustard as well as olive oils.
This shop fits with the Riebeeck Kasteel ambiance and is not overly commercialised.
We walked away with great purchases and had to have some of the local gin to take home with us.

Awesome personal interaction with Visitors makes this the best Olive tasting venue in the area. Fantastic Olive oils, and Olives, but the highlight was the Olive Body creams.

Great shop, which offers various types of olive tasting. From sweet, through garlic to balsamic. The olives can be purchased in small glass jars or 1 kilogram plastic buckets. The price of the larger quantities is very affordable. Various types and blends of the three olive oils were tasted. These sell in 500 mL or 1.5 L quantities. Further olive tapenade and water can also be bought. Very friendly service, worth a visit.
