This wine farm is close to Riebeek Kasteel. It is almost an hour’s drive from the Northern suburbs of Cape Town - a nice road trip in a beautiful area. The views from the wine tasting room is amazing. You look down over the valley with the town at the bottom. They have 3 white wines, a rose and a red wine.…

Meerhof is on the right as one approaches Riebeeck Kasteel. There is a nice view of the valley from behind the tasting venue. The wines we found to be uninspiring, as was the wine tasting experience as a whole.

If you blink as you drive past the gates, you’ll miss the wine estate as there is no sight of any buildings and the only warming that the estate is coming up is a large sign sort of perched on a rocky hill on the left. Also, there was no further signage once we had entered through the gates and we thought we had taken the wrong turn. This aside, the wine itself was delicious and we loved their Petrolhead range in particular. We chose 6 bottles to purchase and they were packed into a lovely cardboard box. It’s the first time I was able to taste 5 wines and leave with a clear head, something I appreciate! Lovely views of the farmlands and a very friendly hostess, overall a good experience!…
