Enjoyed our day here ,we hired two loungers very reasonable price but no cushions there were umbrellas to hire also.had a nice couple of hours here, but could have done with a drink or maybe a snack ,the only thing we saw was the guy selling ice cream ,so we had one of those. As we were driving away we did notice what looked like a mobile unit maybe selling stuff but it was nowhere near us ,but there is a restaurant over the road but it was quite smart as we went there for lunch it’s not the sort of place so go in after you’ve been on the beach

Wow! Long White sandy beach with gentle waves. Stunning sunsets & the sea warm enough to swim. The only draw back was plastic on the beaches I wanted to start a clean up daily campaign to keep it the the beauty it is 💕🇿🇦

S5. Ep5  Livin' it up

Lazing around on the beach is so cool.
Soaking up the sun is so envigorating.
If things get too hot you can always reach for an ice cream, right there.

If things get out of hand get in a bulldozer to pull it right.

Should things become too boring at Topaz then move on to Hibernian Towers.

You feel very unsafe in the area and we will never recommend you to walk on the beach. It was terrible to be so close to the beach, yet never had the guts to walk and enjoy it.

All my life i live here and i enjoyed it very much. Currently is not that great anymore. Season time its even the worst beach in Western Cape Area.. First reason is that they build a wall that cant even c the ocean from a car. Secondly this wall created new currents and is very very dangerous for swimming. Last season few people died drowning even kids and mature kids. Ages range from 7 to 20. This exclude 20+... Also forgot that while they build this walls people that stroll every morning on beach to relax and get out of the house was crippled by metal objects thats still under the sand and they still today not cleared it. Currently this wall they build also cause all sand during tide to be swep away and most rocks appear. You will not find our white sand anymore on the beach. On other factor that nobody even realize is that sewerage system system cant handle most of the area and gets pump directly into ocean. No health inspector nobody will even tell you about it you need to find from doctor you have this or that disease because of the dirty water. "Geelsig" . Another reason is that in season time this beach gets flooded by township people that lives around the helderberg not even part of helderberg. They come with train also and busses and all types of transport. I can go on and on and on . This is facts not fiction. I even have proof of much more that going on here that i stated so far... Google Carte Blanch and check Strand/Houtbay, how dirty they also state it. Its like 20x worse now since they aired that.

So much work has been done to tidy up the beach and it is commendable for now the walk on the beach or the promenade is a lovely experience.

What a lovely beach to go for a long and refreshing walk. You can walk for kilometers and enjoy the beautiful view of Valsbay and on the way back the view of the Strand skyscrapers and Gordonsbay mountain. Lovely save beach for children to swim and parents to enjoy the sun.

One of the nicer beaches. Can be enjoyed by everyone, a great day out to get away from it all. It can get rather busy on the beach, go early to get a good spot.

Whether spending the day with family, playing with friends, fishing, splashing in the waves or just a stroll at sunset, the Strand is the perfect setting. Clean, wide and great views.

This is the main sandy strip in Gordon's Bay. It is lovely and has nice shells, great for sunset and walks but being developed.
