The setting, the building, the history and the technology are interesting. But really fascinating is the mill guide. He is a passionate old man and his stories are so pleasant to listen. He is even conducting demonstrations of the mill processes. At the end of...More

Worth a detour. Not only because of the mill itself but also being in the valleye of the Ouysse, with the impressive cliffs. It is possible to see most parts of the mill from the outside. Nice birdlife too.

We had a lovely time at the old mill, which is not huge, but there was plenty to see and kept us busy for 90 minutes. There were English language infomation sheets which gave a good overview, but the highlight was the French gentleman who...More

Passed by by coincidence but it was the highlight of our day! Situated in a splendid natural environment is a fantastic piece of history that is still functioning. It is remarkable what can be done with mechanics and the force of water.

The guide is very enthusiastic about this great little working mill. It was interesting to compare this with De Latreille where we were staying.

On a whim we followed signs on backroads to this historical old mill. Interesting tour in French with English handout. Beautiful setting. Well worth the detour even in the rain.

This mill is about a km off the beaten path but well worth a visit. Built in the mid 1300, the mill took 60 years to complete and was built by monks with a purpose. The mill continued to grind grain well into the 20th...More

The enthusiasm of Monsieur Faure was evident in the way he lovely explained the working of this historical old mill. Even although my French is good Mr. Faure was difficult to understand but this only added to the charm - there are guides in English...More

An eccentric, curt lady runs her short tour of this interesting stone mill....still in amazing operation after 700 years. To realize that this wonder from the Middle Ages, built on the L'Ouysse river, was fortified against thieves, as wheat was very valuable as a currency,...More

Hello , The Moulin is a very tiny point of interest, and nowhere near a main road. There is no one who is able to pick you up ... A little lady is the only one running the short tour there! I would guess that a taxi or car... More
