Hastinapur was the capital city of the pandavas... but now it is famous for these big holy temples... there are several big temples here and it is often being visited by many people on daily basis... the temples are beautiful and are located in the remote village in mavana district...

The bada Mandir is a must go to jain pilgrimage sight, it has massive idols of jain gods. It's best to visit early in the mornings. There is also a bhojanshala for lunch and dinner.

Historical Ancient Heritage
Apr 2016 • Family
Words aren't enough to describe the beauty of this amazing temple. Full of History & Beliefs, Even this place has been linked with the great epic Mahabharatha. The management is taking the utmost care of the temple and are providing all the major facilities. You will always find the new construction going on somewhere here.

Recently when i went there, I saw the new construction going on in the end of Jambudweep which was of the same 3 Lords whom's Idols were installed in the main temple and can you believe that all the 3 Idols were 31 feet high next to eachother and looks marvelous.

Full of facilities and it's very near also from the major cities like Delhi (120 Kms), Meerut (40 Kms) which can be easily accessible by public transport.

Perfect weekend gateway with family & friends. A must visit place, Highly recommend. Jai Jinendra.

Spiritual Place
Mar 2016 • Family
This a marvelous city, every corner is steeped into history. For us Jains it is a very spiritual place. There are very old historic temples, and some new constructions also.

For children there are park and other interesting things. The food in dharamshala is pure vegetarian and excellent.

A must place to visit anytime during the year, specially in March at Holi festival time.

Old Bara Mandir

Hastinapur is birth place of 3 out of 24 jain Tirthankars. Very very beautiful temple complex have been built in a close proximity.
This is one of the old and big temple. The Main gate is does not gives a fair idea of the size of the temple. It have a Dharamshala to stay and one school is also run from the same temple premises.Very big statues of Jain Tirthankar are worth watching

Good place for kids and family
Oct 2015 • Family
Went there wits family today
It's around 45 kms from Meerut or 120 kms from Delhi. A very nice place for kids and family. U have all the ingredients for all age groups. Calm and peace for quiet and parks and small rides for small kids.
If from Delhi it would be advisable to plan a stay there for a night as otherwise it would be tiring. This coz u have to climb to the top of a few temples and kids being kids will enjoy the views.
An advice : do not trouble the monkeys there, just let them be.

U have a nice place to stay there , its cozy and comfortable. Food there is simple but ok. So all on all a nice place to spend time.

Go there if u have kids.
