Visited 09 FEB 2020 alone. Isolated place, NO SIGN BOARDS, if you did not know about it you would not find it. Forgotten about, weeds covering the graves and white fluid was going through the far end of the cemetery. IT IS DEFINITELY A PLACE TO SEE BEFORE IT GOES TO RUINS, BUT NOT ALONE

I didn't know much about the Anglo-Boer war before today, but this cemetery and memorial effectively conveyed the horrible and sizeable losses. Only a handful of the graves (<5%) were marked with the person's name.
This is an unmanned site to see, in the middle of an industrial zone; you'll see old railroad tracks, power lines, a factory, and power plant's cooling tower within a kilometer of the memorial.
Thanks to the manager at Wimpy (fast food chain down the street) for giving me the location; Trip Advisor didn't have an address listed, and Google Maps put the pin at a different smaller cemetery.

It is disturbing to thinks that women and children who had nothing to do with decision to fight were removed from their homes and literally left to die in concentration camps. This cemetery is an indictment against the British military machine.

The Kroonstad Concentration Camp Cemetery lies near the site of the camp during the Second Boer War that through unconscionable policy and bad logistics saw the death of so many women and children. The special design in slate and marble is stunning, the granite grave markers symbolising the untimely passing of so many. The cemetery is maintained by a committee of seven local volunteers they deserve great credit for keeping this sad piece of history alive for future generations.

A startling site to see. A austere silence hangs over the concentration camp cemetery. 2000 boer women and children laid to rest. A beautifully kept cemetery, that pays tribute to the victims of the horrible
Scorched Earth policy that Britain maintained during the Anglo Boer War between 1989 - 1902.
