Absolutely loved my stay at Boskoppie. I would definitely advise going there to other people. It's a once in a lifetime experience!

Firstly, please if you are concerned about this establishment being involved in canned lion hunting, please do your research. It seems that just because rhey have a lot of lions, they are assumed to be involved, even though the owners deny it and give their views against it.

We had a wonderful time here, learnt a lot and got to play with baby tigers. The staff are informative and the facilities very good. A wide variety of big cats and a special experience.

This place might have nice accommodation I wouldn’t know, I call and asked if they had space and the lady that answered the phone said that she has space on a farm 40km from town. My husband then got to the farm house and led to his room where 3 dog were lying on the bed, the bedding wasn’t washed, the person who’s room it was did move anything away or even attempt to clean. This was just someone’s room in a house and Boskoppie thought it well to send my husband there and charge R850 for the night.
THE WORST NIGHT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was thinking of staying here until I learned about Canned lion industry.

Lion are not endanged, and if beard are bread to end up being shot by a person who pays lots of money for a trophy!

if you can touch lions you are supporting the canned industry and paying for the fate of a lion

Go to a proper game park where you do not touch them, please

Unbelievable how naïve some people are. Boskoppie provides tame lions for rich thrillkillers to shoot. Wake up. Do your research.

Some things you might want to remember... there are slander, libel and defamation of character laws. Personal attacks on people serve no purpose except to show your own ignorance. The 10% of bodyweight feeding regime is adopted as best practice by zoos, reputable breeding centres, and rehab facilities the world over. There are sound scientific reasons for this and if you care to do a modicum of your own research you will discover this for yourself. Stuffing cubs so full that they're almost comatose does the animal no favours and leads to a multitude of health problems, all of which are documented and backed up by vets and others who have spent a lot of time looking into these things. Boskoppie also falls under the banner of the tourist-coddling operation that the other park is accused of, though for different reasons. If you see two such different operating standards surely you might want to wonder why and find some answers for yourself? Lastly - places like Boskoppie get bad press for very valid reasons and they are notorious for their unethical practices throughout South Africa.

Its been said before on here - what is the story behind the fences I was shocked at what I found out and certainly not a disgruntled volunteer. I had a good time at the Farm as will all visitors - who else doesn't enjoy spending time with these beautiful animals in a fantastic setting. All I ask is that you do your research, realise what you might be supporting and perhaps look at it with different eyes. Once you have them enjoy the photos and experience it is one to remember but don't fall into the trap that it is all for the sake of conservation....

What an awful time I had at this "park"
I payed a lot of money to volunteer at boskoppie and was very disappointed when I found out what it was really all about.
Before volunteering with places like these make sure you do a lot of research!

I unfortunately do not share the opinion that this is a fantastic place. Beautiful setting, granted, lions and other big cats yes - but what is the real story behind the fences?? I also urge readers to review the 'Lion cub petting in Southern Africa' posts and make up your own mind as to whether a visit or volunteer post here is really helping these poor creatures survive....

I volunteered recently at this FARM and certainly found out things that shocked me. Make up your own mind, but ensure you do some research first before spending good time and money on something that will have your best intentions but may not be what you thought it was.
