An amazing free site with easy access

Very well maintained medieval castle
If you travel between Coïmbra and Figueira da Foz, it is worth stopping in Montemor-o-Velho to visit this fortress and its church within the castle grounds. Beautiful views from the top of the hill.

It's really worth a visit, and it's free! The walls are well preserved, there's a chapel and gardens. From the walls you can see the rice fields and great views from the surrounding area. The gardens and trees are beautiful and you can clearly see that it's being taken care of. …
