A superb site, well excavated and preserved by English Heritage, a fantastic ,monument to the Romano-British people who built this glorious town right next to Watling Street, and the later preservationists who constructed the current re-production villa. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge and...More

Amazing amount of this site remains on show and acres lay under the surface and probably will never be investigated. I saw people wandering around looking bored stiff, let's face it, this all seems like it cannot be really 2000 years old...but it is. So...More

There is certainly plenty to see here. When you see a plan of the original town it's amazing how big it was. A very good audio guide relates the history of the place. You can just imagine been back in Roman times

Little other than the sparse remnants of a bath house, and a couple of adjacent buildings, survive of a site that ranked the fourth largest city in Roman Britain. Hard to believe, from a modern perspective, out in the wilds of rural Shropshire. It is...More

An interesting visit with a good audio guide taking us round the site with a lot of information of how the Romans used to live and of their brilliant building and engineering skills. A section of gravelled road was part of the massive Watling Street...More

We spent half day here looking from the road we very nearly never went in .But it would have been a big mistake. Fantastic facts about the Roman city .Good price as well I never thought a bunch of rocks would be so interesting.

Easy to find, good parking, cheerful and helpful staff and excellent audio guide. Well worth two or three hours and, in our case, a 35 mile drive each way. We will go there again when we are next in the area.
