A well preserved Ancient Greek city with theater, stadium, and a few temples. The extensive site affords appreciation of the layout of an ancient city.

It is the biggest roofless museum in south Greece. The most amazing place to visit is the wonderful region of Messinia.

The Archaeological site of Ancient Messene is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is impressive in size, variety of structures, and level of preservation. The surrounding natural environment by mt. Ithomi is stunning. A must see for those who venture into South Peloponnese!

Best ancient greek ruins by far. Spent a good two hours wandering around the site. Plenty of detailed explanation plaques.

Beutifull worthe the time to chill out. Be aware the archilogical site is closed at 4pm at the time of our visit easter 2018 Found a great cafe with amazing view called Greek traditional Neo right on the road bend opposite the town square.

Yes there is a car park (its free) but I don't recall much shade so the car may get very hot. The web site cited in the previous response has this informaiton under the museum... Opening hours: Museum: 8:00 - 20:00... More
