This is a small lake, a peaceful quiet place. Follow the signs towards Furnas if you come from the southern highway. Then there are signs towards Lagoa do Congro. Last part is a narrow dirt road so I stopped first opportunity where some other cars...More

This is the most beautiful volcanic lake on the island. A very must. Even though the trip is on a dirt road, it’s just for a short while. The walk to the location is a beautiful nature walk with great photo opportunities.

We only saw one other couple when down at the small lake, so it felt like we were in another world. The lake is a bit of the beaten path, but signeage is fairly clear (we had to turn around because we missed it). There's...More

Travelled with 9 & 12 year old boys and they enjoyed every minute walking in the forest and then to reach the emerald lake was stunning!

It’s a very narrow road up to the lake so you may need to pull over or back up but will see cars at the main entrance. On the way to the lake you’ll see a left turn, pass it and the main entrance is...More

This lake is amazing. The lake and the surroundings are so green, so relaxing. Nice track to go down there. If you are lucky (we were) you can spend some time own your own and meditate on beautiful nature.
