If you don't know the answer don't guess! The name of the lookout BEFORE the lighthouse (as you asked) is mirador es colomer Formentor. There is also Talaia d'Albercutx which is opposite the mirador. Hope this helps!

I cycled from Port du Pollenca to Cap de Formentor and that was a lovely ride and avoided the massive tailback of motorists. You would need to be a reasonably fit cyclist though. An alternative might be to hire motor assisted bikes from one of the bike rental shops on the island.
