We went there late in the afternoon on a really sunny November day. Traffic was ok, yes still quite some tourists but we got there quickly. View is super also during our trip to the lighthouse.

You will not be disappointed with the views from this location. They are fantastic. The drive is wonderful too (at least without traffic). I would recommend stopping by about 2 hours before sunset (perhaps after spending an hour or two at Platja Formentor) and hang...More

Its a great wonder of nature. Awe inspiring. HOWEVER, do not go in day light hours. There are far too many cars on the road up there and when you arrive there is no where to park and you get stuck in a traffic jam...More

Beautiful place. Landscape. But there were team of two thiefs who was acting like tourists. Keep your things by your side. And always keep eye on them. It is amazing scenery so it is very easy to forget to keep your things safe and some...More

Dont miss it, go there, bike there, drive there. But after 11am the road is full of cars and what worse-buses! Around noon no chance to park. Go there early and enjoy views without crowds

Our visit did not have the best weather but we made the best of it. For a single winding road out to the lighthouse, its in terrific condition and I bet in the main season It would be crowded. There was a small stop near...More

Go.... if you enjoy driving ‘mountain’ roads (i.e. twisty, slow paced, big drops, narrowish roads) and like a snack accompanied with spectacular scenery as a reward. Don’t go if you don’t. The cafe at the lighthouse is adequate, it serves snacks, cold drinks, hot drinks...More

After visiting the lighthouse we stopped off here for lunch and a drink. There is lots of parking in a purpose built car park with shaded areas to keep the cars cool. You do pay but it was so cheap. We had a short walk...More

If mile after mile of hairpin bends, narrow roads, cars coming towards you over your side of the central white line and dodging cyclists is your idea of a good experience then carry on. Even on a Monday afternoon in October it was ridiculously busy...More

Once you park your car, I recalled there were a couple of different walking routes - but the walk to the very top is the one we did - more than 300 steps and stunning views all along the way.

If you don't know the answer don't guess! The name of the lookout BEFORE the lighthouse (as you asked) is mirador es colomer Formentor. There is also Talaia d'Albercutx which is opposite the mirador. Hope this helps!

I cycled from Port du Pollenca to Cap de Formentor and that was a lovely ride and avoided the massive tailback of motorists. You would need to be a reasonably fit cyclist though. An alternative might be to hire motor... More
