Went up to this monastery twice over 2 weeks. Initially we went up on a quad bike but the nun was asleep and we had a quick look around and departed. However, on our second week we walked up, which took about an hour and...More

There is not a lot of cultural activities on this island. That being said, there are a lot of monasteries. Visit them to get a peek at traditional life on this island. This one is like steppping back in time.

A good uphill walk to the Monastery with fantastic views, greeted by the only Nun residing there who was friendly and offered us Turkish Delight and as we left gave us a bag of cucumbers,

All of the monastaries are hard to reach. This was perhaps the easiest one. Very sweet nun who knew a little English greeted us. Small shop of souvenirs. Worth the excursion.
