The place needs a lot of love and care to become great again. Yet it is worth the visit Nice inside church and stunning views from the bell tower!

This pretty and well off the beaten track monastery is lovely and I'm so glad we visited. It is up very steep dirt tracks. A man greeted us when we arrived with a plate of loukoumi and we each took one then went to look...More

Have visited this place 4 years ago and again this time. Its beautiful and deeply cared for but unfortunately its crumbling away. The road is a rough track and nearly washed away in places. The views are fantastic, and inside the churches, there are 5...More

Went up to this monastery twice over 2 weeks. Initially we went up on a quad bike but the nun was asleep and we had a quick look around and departed. However, on our second week we walked up, which took about an hour and...More

There is not a lot of cultural activities on this island. That being said, there are a lot of monasteries. Visit them to get a peek at traditional life on this island. This one is like steppping back in time.

I have walked to this Monastery 3 times now - leaving from Skopelos town, taking the track marked 1, and then heading up to the Monastery. It's a good climb, but once there the views are spectacular, and the Exhibition of Historical artefacts is worth...More

A good uphill walk to the Monastery with fantastic views, greeted by the only Nun residing there who was friendly and offered us Turkish Delight and as we left gave us a bag of cucumbers,

All of the monastaries are hard to reach. This was perhaps the easiest one. Very sweet nun who knew a little English greeted us. Small shop of souvenirs. Worth the excursion.
