Hi guys, I have done two guided hikes with Shoshin walks over the last six months. Most recently I just completed the Whale Trail . The tour was led by Pieter. It was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had, and I have spent many years traveling around the world and I’m not that easy to please. First of all the walk itself - spectacular- nature takes care of everything. But even more than that , over two hiking experiences, Pieter the leader of Shoshin has become a good friend and someone I admire deeply. He will make everyone on the tour feel at ease and for those who are willing , he will guide you through a wonderful process of intentionality and self exploration which on both occasions has given me great insights that I have been able to take with me and improve my life. For anyone who needs a break and a recharge, this is definitely the way to go. The process work is light , not at all overbearing and compliments the hiking experience. Use it don’t use it. That seems to be the motto. On both trips I have been amazed how the individuals in the group have gelled so well, and again I think this is facilitated by the approach Shoshin takes. I can highly highly recommend hiking with Pieter and his team. Our next trip is already booked for August when we will do the Otter trail through Shoshin. Don’t hesitate to book one of these experiences. 10 out of 10.…

This was a wonderful 2 day hike to "re-set" and connect with nature. We were a group op 13 ladies who all needed some time away from the hustle and bustle. It is a tough but beautiful hike and we were treated like royalty by Clive and Gerhard. The catering was SUPER and Clive had loads of patience with those that chose to hike at a slower pace. It was such a treat for us to be served with welcome drinks, snacks and a fabulous braai that included my favorite "braai-broodjies". We even had salad and stuffed butternut over and above the usual chops, wors and steak. And we won't talk about the slabs of chocolates shared after that.... We all enjoyed a good night's rest after sharing stories around the camp fire and the next morning we awoke to tea / coffee and a healthy breakfast of freshly made fruit salad, muesli and yogurt... or left-overs from the braai. The accommodation is excellent with no more than 6 persons sharing a bathroom. The showers are all gas heated so there is no need to worry about being left with cold water if you are the last one in line.…

This was one of the most convenient, beautiful and inspirational much needed hikes I have done in a while. I love how they take care of the details and logistics of moving luggage and feeding everyone. You basically just need to rock up. Pieter and Clive were great guides and company and I have since recommend the hike to a few friends who went and are also now converted Shoshin walks fans!…
